STAVTRUP I

A one-family house in a new residential area on previous farmland

-is a challenging job. Most design decisions have already been made, as the layout of streets and driveways and the subdivision of land is decided already. Besides some not always optimal allotments, it also somehow causes trouble integrating the cars, which are an overdeterminig factor in the suburban residential landscape. It mostly ends with what Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and Momoyo Kaijima have descriped as the cars having "buried their head but not their butt" in the building mass. Attempts were made to solve this problem. They failed. However the front garden was kept open, and the central space of the house is in fact an outdoor space, so some accomplishments.
