EDIFICATION

Architecture cannot be taught, but it can be learned

-Developing or growing into a profession or vocation should never be something merely instrumental, a means to get a job, earn money, status, a career. It should be considered as having profound value in itself, for oneself as for community and society. Learning, in this sense, is growing, and requires self-exceedance, or what in German is called Bildung.

As with the examples of Design/build education below, credit goes to the students at Aarhus School of Architecture: especially first year students, and the students affiliated with Studio 2D | The Art of Building.
